Visakha Govt degree college is one of the most prominent educational institutions established exclusively for women in the city of destiny. The college functions through various committees which work in coordination with one another to organize college developmental programs and activities.Visakha Government Degree College for Women is located in Visakhapatnam city in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Visakha Government Degree College for Women came into existence in the year 1975 by the Visakha Women’s College Society.
A college exclusively for women in this city became a reality in the year 1975 due to the constructive, relentless and conscious efforts of freedom fighter and a philanthropist.Understanding the need for an educational institution exclusively for women in one of the major cities of Andhra Pradesh, he left no stone unturned to fulfill the dreams of many girl students to get empowered through quality education.Since its Inception, the college has been progressing from strength to strength in terms of academic performance, placements, introduction of value added courses , upgradation of infrastructural facilities,research activities and providing community services.
