IIT BHU is at 14 on the engineering list as rated by the NIRF. The institute comprises 14 departments and 3 interdisciplinary schools that provide 64 courses at the UG, PG, and Ph.D. levels. IIT BHU is the second-largest IIT in terms of the campus area. The institute covers an area of 1300 acres and is situated within the main campus of BHU. The institute campus is designed as a semi-circle with different wings in different sectors. The academic wings are in the inner sectors and the hostels are located in the outer sectors
